Abstract
Before conceiving a treatment plan that provided the application of prosthetic works or dental implants, the establishment of a diagnosis is extremely important in order to identify the possible metabolic disorders. The involution process that occurs in old age is obvious but it has significant individual differences regarding the complexity and the high specializion of the structures. The aim of the performed study is to identify the essential parameters that characterize the influence of the general diseases in the appearance of the disturbances determined by edentation in the oral environment for the lots of analyzed patients. The clinical study, corroborated with the paraclinical data showed the presence of a tight correlation between the parodontal disease and/or the precocious appearance of edentation and some systemic diseases, especially cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, pulmonary pathology and osteoporosis, results that were also confirmed by those existent on the international level in the specialize literature.
