Open Access Policy
The Romanian Journal of Medical and Dental Education (RJMDE) is an open-access scientific journal committed to the immediate and unrestricted dissemination of scholarly research.
All scientific articles published by RJMDE are made freely available online immediately upon publication. Readers are not required to register, subscribe, or pay any access fee to read, download, or use the journal’s published content in accordance with the applicable license.
RJMDE supports the principle that free access to scientific knowledge contributes to increased visibility, dissemination, and use of research results within the academic, clinical, and professional communities.
There is no charge for readers to access or download articles published by the journal.
Publication fees applicable to authors, where relevant, are independent of reader access and are described separately in the journal’s Article Processing Charges (APC) policy.
Payment of a publication fee does not influence editorial evaluation, peer review, or the decision to accept or reject a manuscript.
Immediate Open Access
RJMDE provides immediate open access to published articles. No embargo period is applied.
Full-text articles are available through the journal website from the date of publication.
Access to previously published articles remains freely available through the journal’s electronic archive.
Copyright
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the material submitted for publication is original and that they have obtained the necessary permissions for any copyrighted material, figures, photographs, tables, or other content reproduced from third-party sources.
Publication in RJMDE does not exempt authors from complying with applicable copyright legislation and third-party intellectual property rights.
The use of copyrighted third-party material must be appropriately acknowledged and, where required, accompanied by written permission from the copyright holder.
Licensing
Articles published by the Romanian Journal of Medical and Dental Education are distributed under the:
Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License — CC BY 4.0
Under the CC BY 4.0 license, users are permitted to:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial purposes.
These permissions are granted provided that the terms of the license are respected.
Attribution Requirements
Users of RJMDE content must:
- give appropriate credit to the original author or authors;
- identify the original publication in the Romanian Journal of Medical and Dental Education;
- provide a reference to the applicable Creative Commons license;
- indicate whether changes have been made to the original material.
Attribution must not imply that the authors, the journal, the Editorial Office, or the publisher endorse the user or the manner in which the material is reused.
No Additional Restrictions
Users may not impose legal terms, technological restrictions, or digital rights management measures that would prevent others from exercising the rights granted under the applicable Creative Commons license.
Third-Party Material
The Creative Commons license applicable to an article does not automatically apply to third-party material included in that article where a different copyright status or credit line is indicated.
Users wishing to reproduce such material are responsible for determining whether additional permission is required from the relevant copyright holder.
Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure that:
- the submitted work is original;
- copyrighted material belonging to third parties is used legally;
- appropriate permissions have been obtained where necessary;
- all reproduced or adapted material is correctly acknowledged;
- the manuscript does not infringe the intellectual property rights of other persons or organizations.
