ABSTRACT
Over the past decade, dental practice has witnessed transformative advances driven by digitalization, automation, and novel biomaterials. This review synthesizes evidence from over 75 peer-reviewed studies to provide a detailed analysis of key technologies: intraoral scanning and CAD/CAM workflows, additive manufacturing in prosthetics, laser-assisted procedures, guided implantology, advanced imaging systems, artificial intelligence applications, tele-dentistry platforms, and emergent areas such as nanotechnology and robotic assistance. Through systematic literature search and qualitative synthesis, we evaluate materials and methods, assess clinical outcomes, and discuss economic and ethical considerations. Results demonstrate significant gains in treatment precision, patient satisfaction, and practice efficiency. We identify challenges including initial investment costs, training requirements, and interoperability barriers. Our conclusions highlight the need for multidisciplinary collaboration and longitudinal clinical trials to optimize integration of these technologies and enhance oral healthcare delivery.
