ABSTRACT
Introduction. Recognizing the full potential of periodontal disease (PD) in the beginning or advancement of Alzheimer’s dementia (AD) is vital for minimizing geriatric morbidity as the world aging population increasingly advances. As the pathogenic processes behind AD are the most well-studied among all kinds of dementia, this review investigates the potential role of PD in the pathogenesis of AD.
