ABSTRACT

Denture-induced hyperplasia results from chronic mechanical irritation, leading to fibrous tissue overgrowth, while angular cheilitis is associated with reduced vertical occlusion and secondary microbial proliferation. Traumatic ulcers develop due to excessive pressure and friction from maladapted prostheses. These conditions can cause significant discomfort, impair oral function, and negatively impact quality of life. This case report details the diagnosis and management of a 62-year-old female patient presenting with palatinal denture-induced hyperplasia, bilateral angular cheilitis, and traumatic ulcers caused by ill-fitting acrylic removable partial dentures. Treatment involved the fabrication of two new dentures using Biodentaplast material and adjustment of the vertical occlusion dimension by selecting a longer set of teeth. Following the intervention, the oral lesions resolved, and the patient reported improved comfort and function. This report underscores the need for early diagnosis, appropriate prosthetic adaptation, and patient education to prevent and manage denture-related complications effectively.
