Economic evaluation of healthcare programmes is an important part of dental care management in public and private dentistry. An economic evaluation in dentistry has at least two parts: first, the goal is to choose a less costly procedure and the second aspect refers to the possibility to choose a programme with
high efficiency. This article reviews the various methods of economic evaluation and also gives examples of some of the current research in the field of dentistry.
