ABSTRACT

Aim of the study: The objective of this study is to analyze the techniques and methods of loading devitalized teeth used in mixed and hybrid prosthetic restorations. The study aims to identify the most effective prosthetic solutions for ensuring the stability and durability of restorations, considering the additional risks associated with using devitalized teeth as support.. Materials and methods: Synthesis of bibliographic information found in the evaluation of the specialized literature by the techniques and methods of loading devitalized teeth used in mixed and hybrid prostheses. Narrative synthesis based on relevant articles, selected from search engine results from PubMed, PubMed Central, Medscape, who, Google Scholar database. Priority publications have been selected over the last 10 years.

Results: The results of the study highlighted that the restoration of devitalized teeth with hybrid and mixed prostheses can be successfully achieved when appropriate reinforcement techniques, such as endodontic posts, are applied. Metal-ceramic crowns were identified as the preferred solution for restorations on devitalized teeth in posterior areas, while all-ceramic crowns were used in anterior regions where aesthetics are more important. A significant improvement in the durability and stability of prostheses was observed when precise loading techniques and reinforcement methods were applied to the remaining tooth structure.

Conclusions: The study demonstrated that the restoration of devitalized teeth in mixed and hybrid prostheses is a viable and effective solution when appropriate materials and techniques are used. The application of endodontic posts for reinforcing the devitalized tooth and the careful selection of prosthetic materials (metal-ceramic or all-ceramic) are crucial for achieving durable and aesthetic restorations.
