ABSTRACT

Aim of the study.  Elastic removable partial dentures are much more aesthetic than acrylic dentures and easier for the patient to tolerate due to increased comfort and good functionality. This article describes both the benefits of treating partial edentulism by wearing flexible removable partial dentures, as well as the disadvantages and unwanted effects that occur late due to failure to follow the instructions given by the dentist.

Materials and methods Between December 2025 and May 2026, we treated ten patients with elastic dentures from rural areas who did not accept acrylic dentures due to the increased volume and unsightly metal clasts. Among them, there were patients who already wore traditional acrylic dentures and were not satisfied, and the rest presented with partial edentulism and were treated for the first time with flexible partial dentures.

Results The flexible denture is much more comfortable for patients, as it does not have a rigid base, gives the patient ease of speaking and chewing and a pleasant physical appearance.

Conclusions Flexible dentures are accepted by patients who do not have the possibility of fixed dentures, especially when health is poor and delays or prohibits implant-supported dentures.
